Ongoing growth planning

A review will only help you grow if you use it as a springboard for action!

Meet with your Development Partner to agree your Personal Development Plan. It’s generally helpful to do this a week or so after your review meeting so you’ve had time to reflect on the feedback you received and the steps you’d like to take in response.

For each of the development areas highlighted in the summary of your Delphic360 review, agree a goal. Effective goals that lead to successful outcomes are SMART;

  • Specific – have a clear definition of what you will achieve / do
  • Measurable – have defined metrics to decide whether you’ve met the goal
  • Achievable – are stretching yet realistic
  • Relevant – align with the goals of your team / organisation
  • ime-bound – have a deadline for meeting the goal

For each goal, work out the steps that you need to take to achieve it…and then start working on them!

Decide when you will meet with your Development Partner to review progress. Most people find it helpful to meet every 3-6 months; meeting more frequently doesn’t allow time for change…but meeting infrequently can result in a loss of focus / momentum. When you meet, be honest about your progress towards each development goal. You might like to score each one from 5 (completely achieved) to 0 (done nothing). Discuss the reasons for each score & agree the next steps.
